Building a Small Fungi Growth Chamber to Test Moisture Levels

What I’m working on:
Building a small enclosed setup to observe how fungi grow under different moisture conditions

My goal:
To see how moisture affects the rate and type of fungal growth

My setup / approach:
I’m using two containers:

  • One with higher moisture (sealed, damp environment)
  • One with lower moisture (more airflow)

Both have the same type of organic material inside

What I’ve observed so far:
The higher moisture container is showing faster growth, but it also looks less structured (more fuzzy)

The lower moisture one is slower but seems more defined

What I’m trying to figure out:
Why the structure of the growth looks different under these conditions

Specific feedback I’m looking for:
Is this a reasonable way to isolate moisture as a variable, or am I unintentionally changing other factors too?
